Don’t know about you, but here at A Town Called Home music plays a huge part of our lives.

We can probably all think of a song or two that, when we hear it, instantly reminds us of particular time in our lives. Music is with us throughout our journey, seeing us through all the highs and the lows.

Here at A Town Called Home we listen to all sorts of music, a real mix of current chart hits and golden oldies (can blame Mam for that!). We’ve realised that we’re using music quite a lot right now. Noticing the instant mood lift when we have some tunes playing.

Whether it’s an energetic wake me up me at breakfast time or a chilled out vibe during the day, we’ve realised we’ve started to lean towards a few favourites over the past few weeks.  So we thought we’d share our current top 10 songs (we did warn you that we had a rather eclectic taste!). And of course being loyal to our roots, you’ll notice there are some north east inspirations in there...

  1. Sam Fender - Saturday
  2. Little mix - Power
  3. The Supremes - You can’t hurry love
  4. Gnarls Barkley - Crazy
  5. Andrew Cushin - Waiting for the rain
  6. Rihanna - Cheers (drink to that)
  7. Oasis - Wonderwall
  8. Pink - Raise your glass
  9. Marvin Gaye - I heard it through the grapevine
  10. Beyoncé - Crazy in love

Maybe our list will give you some inspiration, some new artists to listen to, or maybe it’ll simply encourage you to crank up the volume on your favourite tunes.

We know music plays a huge part in so many of our lives, and that’s why we have a small selection of music inspired greetings cardavailable on our site. But we’d love to add more over time. Who would you want to see? We’d love to know!
